The jungle 29,30

Chapter 29
It's cool to see that jurgis is wants to know what the party is about and that's cool because he wants to know. It's cool that Ostrinski is sHowing jurgis about every thing and he is telling jurgis that workers need to get back and need to gain “class consciousness” so that they can organize in favor of their interests.
Chapter 30
It's cool to see that jurgis is telling his family about socialism and that's cool because he wants people to know about it and. So what's the whole book about I like it's about socialism.

The jungle 27,28

Chapter 27
I think it's sad to see that Jurgis is starting to beg for a job and that sad but what is hard for Jurgis is that the strike ends and many other people are looking for a job and that sucks foe for him because he does not have a job rite now and with this it's hard for him to get one. I think it's sad to see that he has to go homeless again man this guy has so much on his plate it's sad to see that his life is like this. I think it was funny when Jurgis was sleeping and the lady kick him out for snore I kind of laugh a little. I think it's sad when Jurgis goes to see his family that the police take them and he can only talk to them for a little bit that is so sad because he has not see them for a long time. Jurgis went back to jail.
Chapter 28
That's cool when Jurgis gives the false name and one knows that he attack connor. It's sad when jurgis hears that ladies are forces to work that is sad to hear because that is not fair to ladies. I think it's sad to see jurgis back on the streets because he has no place to stay warm and it's sad to see that he has to look for a place to stay. What's cool is Jurgis tells people about the corrupt practices of big capitalists and that is showing in my eyes that he wants to stop all the things that is going on around packing town. So in these chapter it was sad but it's kind of starting to look good for Jurgis because people are starting to see the same things he is.

The Jungle 26

Chapter 26
It's cool to see that jurgis still has his job as a hog trimmer but, it's sad to see that the union and the packing factories are not getting along the works go on strike; so that makes a lot of people out of jobs at this point. Jurgis then gets a job as one of the bosses that of the killing beds and that is cool to see because he can kind of run the works that and part of the killing bed that is cool to see. What's cool to see is the packers are starting to give fresh meat to the people because they don't want they toturn on them and, that is so cool to see that the people care about what they are eating and it's good that it's come to this in the story. What's crazy is that jurgis attacks Conner and he goes back to jail so to me that is crazy because he just got out of jail and now he is back in ther that is sad to see what is happen to him in kind of a good time in his life. Therfore, what this chapter is trying to show people is the way that the corruption of the system and that is sad because many people did not know about this whole thing that was going on in packing town at the time and that is sad to see this going on in the story.

23,24,25,26

Chapter 23
I think is crazy that jurgis goes back but he gets a job digging tunnels and the winter hits him but he thinks that the job will last him all winter so he spends all of his money on alcohol but it's sad that he breaks his arm working that is so sad because of all the hardship that jurgis has gone though in his life so far.
Chapter 24
It's sad to me that jurgis has to find heat in bars I think that is sad but it's cool to see that he finds a drunk man that is dress good and he invite jurgis to his house that is sweet what is crazy is that the man that he is with is the son of the man that got jurgis the job in packing town that is crazy to see that happen but it's cool that he did that for him.
Chapter 25
It's sad that jurgis is so poor that if he show the bill people would think that he would have taken it whats sad about this is that jurgis is back in jail for ten days that is so sad to see all of the bad things that happen to him in this chapter.
Chapter 26
It's crazy of all the jobs that jurgis has done and now the people are not working and that is kind of cool to seer because the people are fighting for what they want and jurgis is right they helping to get a better job and get paid better then he is right now. So that is what I like about this chapters and wht at I dislike about them.

Chapter 20,23

Chapter 20
I think that it's good jurgis is trying to find a job for his son and I think it's a great thing that he wants to live for his son. The other thing that he can't find a job in all of packing town and it's sad that jurgis is blacklist so he can't find a job at all but it's so cool that he finds a guy from the same union and that he finds a job for him I'm factory harvesting machines and it's so cool to see jurgis gets a job.
Chapter 21
What I think is sad about this chapter is that the kids wages have to kept the family so jurgis can look for a job and tha is so sad to me that the kids at a young age have to do that. And what else is sad is that they have to go to the dump and look for food and to think that what America was like at this time of hardship. But what's coo,a bout this is when they are looking for the food they meet a lady and she is getting married to man that runs a stell mill and makes a little for jurgis to get a job and he takes it to him and he gets a job and that's cool to see him keep looking for a job sweet! It's sad to see that jurgis can only see his kids on the weekends and the other thins is Antanas is died and that is so sad to hear.
Chapter 22
Its sad to see jurgis like this because he looks at her dead body and just walks away and hides in a railcart and just to see all of the of the emotion that he has is so sad to read about but the good thing about this is that a farmer sell jurgis a meal and that's good to see him eat and a place to sleep and the thing is jurgis gets a new job and works for the farmer. What's sad about this is jurgis as to get meal by stealing them but it's for his family and that's what he has to do. So that is what I like and dislike about these chapters.

The jungle 7-20

What I like about this part of the book is all of the things that are showed from the dark. Like jurgis tells the man who sold the house to him that he wants him to show all the things that are hidden in the house. What I don't like is that in packingtown that the workers are working harder but the pay got cut and that is not fair to the workers. What's sad is that juries gets hurt and he can't work for three months that's so sad because at this time money is gold and everyday counts. What I kind of like is that juries finds that most of the meat is bad and it's made into sausage and has gross that people it that meat but I'm glad that juries knows about it. So that's what I like about this put of the book but it was gross.

Slaughter House- Five

The book that I'm reading is called Slaughter House-Five and I'm have been lost in the text of the reading so far. One of the things that got to me is how Yon Yonson is writing a book about him be in a camp in Dresden and that just gets me because the next thing you know that he is talking about the friend he is going to talk to about things that happen in the war. The other thing that is crazy is how he is writing a book in a book and but what is the point of him talking about what happen to him and his friend at the camp that these two were at. But what makes me sad his how they are talking about the war and all they could remember was the bad things that they saw or seen and the just makes me think that whole time that this thing that happen to them makes me sad that they had to see this at a young age. But what makes me laugh is Mary Yon friends wife because she got mad at him because she did not like the books or movies about war and that made me laugh because she was so mad she could not stay in one place and would come in and out of the room to see if her husband was not drinking. So that is what happen to far in the story I don't know how this is going to turn out because it sounds like the people that were in the slaughter house are not going to have a great time and Yon is not going to finish the book at all.

The Jungle 4,5,6,7

What I liked at this part of the book is how it show jugis and how he works and what he likes to work for someone. The other thing that I like is he works so hard all day and he only gets 17 dollars and this is showing how the people back in the day would work so hard but get little for what they did, and what else is crazy is that jugis would carry things for his house on his hard and I don't get that at all is that the only way that he could carry things to his house. So what is the story going so far it's all over but it's giving the point is how these people are working so hard but getting so little and this is showing me has a person that I can work hard and not get paid but these people worked harded and got so littl so that is what I thought of this part of the book.

The Jungle 1,2,3

The first part of the book was all over, and it just from one story to a new and I didn't get the whole thing about the beer and the people that were in the story so far. The other thing is all of the big names in the story and how it just talks about many different names and not just one. What I did like about the first few chapters that I read was the story that it's focus on and the meaning of it's not just like other books it's telling what this people and what they do for a living. The thing is about this is it jumps from one thing the next and I lost o few times because of that but so far I like the story a lot and I can't wait to read more.

My essay

The topic that i pick for the essay was why should the United states go to war to preserve the union I think the big point that I would pick would have to be hold the Union because if that falls then the people cant do it and its going to just mess up big time, and the way that i will prove that is by showing some of the ideas that the country should of had when they went into and see how they could have held as one in the war and what they could have done to end it faster then it was. And the other thing is to stop slaves in the south and make them free to do what they want so that is my topic that i have picked.

Reaction

I love this chapter it was the best one yet one of the reason that I liked this chapter so much because Douglass was being treated like a free man and he was getting paid for the work that he did and the people started to treat him like a human and the main thing about this chapter is he was a human and that is why I liked this chapter so much then the other ones.
The bad thing thing about this chapter is the man that would make Douglass work and when Douglass gave the man the money the man would give Douglass 6 cents and that is sad because Douglass would give the man 6 dollars and that was so sad to hear.
But in all this was so great to see Douglass free and to be treated like a human.

Question: Why did the man give Douglass only 6 cents?
Comments:I like that he was a free man.

Question: Why did he change his name?
Comments: Because all the people had the same name.

Questions & Comments

Question: Why did he talk about drinking alot in this part of the story.
Comment: I like how other slaves got him to read more.

Question: How come his master what him to know how to trade.
Comment: I like how his master want him to do more and not just work in the field.

Reaction

This part of the story is very good on telling what Douglass is going into and what he shows us as a reader. The first thing is when he is moved again and its sad that he moves all the time and the other thing is the people that he meets at his new home and one of the people that he meets there is the one who gave him the root and that was cool that he worked with him and the other thing is how the other slaves get him more wanting to read because he saw them. This is a great part of the story but the bad thing to about this is the beating just don't stop and its sad how Douglass said that the slaveholders were thinking that it was their duty to beat the slaves and that is just so said to think about that and how the slaveholders were just so mean to them and they did not say nothing. The last thing is when he talks about the north and all they know was up to New York and that they learn about Canada and that's so cool that they know now about more up north so that is what I got out of this chapter.

Reaction

In the chapters that we read it was very instering and what happen to Frederick Douglass the first thing was that he moved away to live with a new slaveholder and he did not like that the other thing that he say in this part of the story is> But i did like the story at this point and im learing so much about what happen to slaves during this time and it's so sad that people didnt thing this was bad but i think it was. The thing i also liked is the details that he is using in the story and im  thinking about what he is saying and i can see it in may mind. but the one that i dont like is the slaveholder they are making me so mad how they treated the slave and thats makes me so mad but it makes me sad to think of what the Africa- Americas had to do for the people and one body cared about it and thats wrong  but in this part i think its great and i want to read alot more of the story to see what happens to him.

Question & Comments Chapters 5,6,7 TJ Josh

Chapter 5
Question 1: Why did Colonel Lloyd get rid of Fredrick Douglas?
Comments: I think that Douglas should feel praised to be choose out of the thousands to go to Baltimore

Question 1: How come Fredrick Douglas described how the children ate their food?
Comments: I think Fredrick was telling the people how they ate to show how the owners treated them.

Chapter 6

Comment: Because at that time period if you had knowledge you had power at that time.

Question: Why did Douglas go into so much detail about what Mrs. Auld looked like and acted like?
Comment: I thought it was nice how Mres. Auld taught him the ABC's and how to read.

Chapter 7
Question: How come he became friends with all of the white boys in the streets?
Comments: I think it was so he could learn how to read with them telling him because they were friends.

Chpter 5,6,7

In this chapters it got very happy and he was treated like a person from people like one of the people that would kept him safe by people and the other thing his new master the one that was starting to show him how to read and write and that was so cool because this people were treating him like a person and showing him what to do and that's so great. In the story it is great right now because he is been treated like a person and people like him and he is knowing that he is been treated like a person and that is great. But what else i liked about the story is the details that he is using in the story and that is great and I love the story now its happy.

Slavery

The reaction that i have to all of this is so sad. The way that people treated to slaves on the ship was sad how they would kill them or throw them over and not can or how they would wrip them till they were blood all over. These people were strong because they went though so much and lived and that is so great but its just so sad how some poeple would just kill themself and that show how hard it was on them and the things that made them do that. I dont now how to made a reaction to this its just so hard to think about this and how the America and other countries treated them like this becuase alot of people dont know what it was like and they just think it was a piece of cake and they had it easy but if you watch this you will get a goood idea of what they had to do or what they went though.
If I was on the ship I would jump off the ship I know that if I jump off that I would have a bad way to get home but I would die out at sea thenget killed on he ship.
If I had a baby I thin that i would stay on the ship and let the baby live but it would be hard to with me and the baby I dont know what to do at that point I thnk that many people would stay on the ship with their baby.

Reaction 2,3,4

The story is getting much sadder because of the things that he is saying in the story. One of the things that he say is that the kids that work there have nothing to wear when it gets cold, and then he goes on and say who he is working for for and thats cool to know who he is working for. But this story is sad just the things that the slave have gone though and how the people treated them like crap and thats so mess up because they are good people to them. The thing to is they do ever thing that the people ask them to do and they do it and still get treated like crap. So in all this is sad but its a good story.

Chapter 1 reaction

The reaction that i had in this chapter is very good about this one of the reason is the details that he used is in the story was great it got me in to the reading and the words that he use but the story is crazy and it was sad because he did not even know his own birthrate and what happen to his ante was sad to it seem that this man had been in alot and its so sad with all of the things that he goes though. The father in the story was a white man and this whole story is good I like how the author got me into the story with all of the things that he said in the story. How he talks about his family and what they were and how he talked about, and what happen to his aunt Hester was so sad she was taken into the kitchen and what the man did to her was so sad and he saw it with his eyes. He would also see alot of the slaves that would come into city. So in all this is a great story the way that he talks about slavery and the details makes me want to read more of the story and i tell you all that you should read this to because of story and how he show what slavery was. So that is my reaction to the first chapter it was sad and it made me think of what the people had done to his family and what the people went though at the time.
