My essay
The topic that i pick for the essay was why should the United states go to war to preserve the union I think the big point that I would pick would have to be hold the Union because if that falls then the people cant do it and its going to just mess up big time, and the way that i will prove that is by showing some of the ideas that the country should of had when they went into and see how they could have held as one in the war and what they could have done to end it faster then it was. And the other thing is to stop slaves in the south and make them free to do what they want so that is my topic that i have picked.

I love this chapter it was the best one yet one of the reason that I liked this chapter so much because Douglass was being treated like a free man and he was getting paid for the work that he did and the people started to treat him like a human and the main thing about this chapter is he was a human and that is why I liked this chapter so much then the other ones.
The bad thing thing about this chapter is the man that would make Douglass work and when Douglass gave the man the money the man would give Douglass 6 cents and that is sad because Douglass would give the man 6 dollars and that was so sad to hear.
But in all this was so great to see Douglass free and to be treated like a human.
Question: Why did the man give Douglass only 6 cents?
Comments:I like that he was a free man.
Question: Why did he change his name?
Comments: Because all the people had the same name.

This part of the story is very good on telling what Douglass is going into and what he shows us as a reader. The first thing is when he is moved again and its sad that he moves all the time and the other thing is the people that he meets at his new home and one of the people that he meets there is the one who gave him the root and that was cool that he worked with him and the other thing is how the other slaves get him more wanting to read because he saw them. This is a great part of the story but the bad thing to about this is the beating just don't stop and its sad how Douglass said that the slaveholders were thinking that it was their duty to beat the slaves and that is just so said to think about that and how the slaveholders were just so mean to them and they did not say nothing. The last thing is when he talks about the north and all they know was up to New York and that they learn about Canada and that's so cool that they know now about more up north so that is what I got out of this chapter.

In the chapters that we read it was very instering and what happen to Frederick Douglass the first thing was that he moved away to live with a new slaveholder and he did not like that the other thing that he say in this part of the story is> But i did like the story at this point and im learing so much about what happen to slaves during this time and it's so sad that people didnt thing this was bad but i think it was. The thing i also liked is the details that he is using in the story and im thinking about what he is saying and i can see it in may mind. but the one that i dont like is the slaveholder they are making me so mad how they treated the slave and thats makes me so mad but it makes me sad to think of what the Africa- Americas had to do for the people and one body cared about it and thats wrong but in this part i think its great and i want to read alot more of the story to see what happens to him.

Chpter 5,6,7
In this chapters it got very happy and he was treated like a person from people like one of the people that would kept him safe by people and the other thing his new master the one that was starting to show him how to read and write and that was so cool because this people were treating him like a person and showing him what to do and that's so great. In the story it is great right now because he is been treated like a person and people like him and he is knowing that he is been treated like a person and that is great. But what else i liked about the story is the details that he is using in the story and that is great and I love the story now its happy.
